Lets take the stress out of the event by making sure your organised. Take time a few days before travelling to the event to get your kit list in order. Heres list that will help. Ive included everything you would need up to an IM event so if your doing a local sprint you wont need it all but its all to be considered!


  • Goggles x 2 + anti fog option
  • swim hat
  • wetsuit,
  • tri suit or swimmers for under the wetsuit
  • Vaseline or body glide to put on areas that you know that can cause rubbing


  • Bike itself
  • Tool bag
  • Puncture repair kit (levers/spare inner tubes/gas canisters/alloy keys)
  • Pump
  • Bento box
  • Water bottles
  • Sun glasses
  • Helmet
  • Shoes
  • Socks (if you use)
  • Rain coat (always take even IM nice Ive sent with heavy rain!!)
  • Computer and charger
  • DI2 charger


  • Trainers
  • Hat/visor
  • Water bottle? hydration vest?
  • socks
  • Run belt for nutrition?
  • Sun glasses

Nutrition for day – any of the following

  • Electrolytes/salt tabs
  • Gels
  • Bars
  • Blocks?
  • Drink mix
  • Rehydration sachets for after
  • favourite treat for once your finished



  • Race day license
  • Sun tan lotion
  • After race clothes
  • Race belt

  • Plasters
  • Pain killers
  • Compression if you use
  • Towel – possibly for transition
  • HR strap

  • Travel information
  • Toilet tissue (trust me when you see the portaloos in the morning!)
